VERY RARE

LIMITED EDITION

Here is a stunning, incredibly well preserved gem from the highly sought after and critically acclaimed "Stinger Series" from 2003 made by the Gibson Custom Shop in collaboration with Music Machine. This very rare and beautiful guitar has a mind bending AAAAA Quilt/Flame Top and a verified Brazilian fret board. The Brazilian fret board on this particular example is among the nicest I have seen with an unmistakeable dark brown, purple, and reddish color pattern that is highly figured. It has swirls and streams that give it undeniable character. It is not only beautiful but tonally it is in a class by itself. The top on this beauty is a hard Eastern maple just like the originals in the 50's. The "Stinger" series in general are "ALL ABOUT THE TONE & BEAUTY". With a pair of absolutely delicious P-90's and an extremely comfortable neck this guitar is an absolute winner as far as looks, tone, and playability. This example is in excellent near mint condition with no visible play wear. The only imperfection that I could see was a small spot of buckle marks just above the control plate on the back of the guitar. This is an extremely beautiful and rare guitar that is surely going to impress the ears and please the eyes in ways you only dreamed of. Add this exquisite piece of art to your collection and bolster your arsenal with a real winner.

- This guitar is in Collector Grade condition, & 100% original with no real play-wear anywhere. The frets are like new and there are no dings or dents anywhere on the guitar. There is a   very small area of buckle marks on the back right above the control plate.
- There is no sign of it being played at all, even the pick guard is clean.
There is also no bleeding of the finish on the neck by the binding or   anywhere else.

- Beautiful extremely 3D, FLAMED, HARD EASTERN MAPLE TOP...   Absolutely stunning!

- Nice fat neck that measures: 1st fret - .930", 12th fret - 1.005"

Stinger Series Gibson 1956 Historic Reissue Les Paul

Next are the Stinger Series Gibson Les Paul 1956 Historic Reissue in quilt, figure, plain-top with sunburst finish and Gold Tops. The driving force for the 1956 Stinger Les Paul was Randy Scott and his lovely wife Char. They even helped me as I was building the specifications in the Excel program I was using at the time. We thought “Wait a minute these are supposed to be “custom” guitars. In the old days Gibson made custom guitars like “Sweet Cherry”, and others. Well, why not? We were struck by the notion that we just might get the rare opportunity to actually exceed the basic requirement for tone and authenticity all of the while creating something really cool and esthetically desirable. The comments we were hearing from interested parties and connoisseurs would go something like, “I want a 1956 Historic Gibson Les Paul, but mine is a Gold top and I would like one that has the fabulous Edwin tone, a 59 or a 60 neck that has pretty wood or plain wood and with a sunburst finish.” Some people wanted a Gold top finish but with options not offered in the standard Historic Reissue series. The Stinger Series Historic Reissue Gibson Les Paul 1956 in quilt tops use top-wood that are of the big leaf western maple species. There are at least ten Stinger 1956 Quilt Top Les Paul Reissues. Eastern maple was used for the tops of the Stinger Series Gibson Les Paul 1956 Figure Top Historic Reissues. There are at least ten Figure Top Stinger 1956 Les Paul Reissues. The Stinger Series Gibson Les Paul 1956 Plain Top Historic Reissue has an eastern hardrock maple top. There are at least ten 1956 Plain Tops. There were no Stinger Series Gibson Les Paul 1956 Historic Reissue built with standard 1956 Gibson Les Paul neck size. Regardless of the neck size, the depth of the figure or the finish these Gibson Les Paul guitars were built for tone. Not all of the variations were designated in the product code of each item.

Stinger Series Gibson Historic Reissue Les Paul guitars

Though built for tone, all of the Stinger Series Gibson Les Paul Standard single cutaway 1954, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960 Historic Reissues have Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards. The Brazilian Rosewood being used at this time is some of the most visually stunning wood I have ever seen. What some people consider a plus when buying a Stinger Series Historic Reissue Les Paul Standard model is that they all have Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards. You can tell it is Brazilian pretty much just by looking at the fingerboard itself but also by looking at the back of the peghead. You can call Gibson Customer Service at 1-800-4GIBSON to confirm that you have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. Just tell them the serial number and they will give you a confirmation. All true Music Machine Stinger Series Historic Reissue Les Paul Standard models have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard.
