Here is an extremely rare vintage American Stratocaster in beautiful original condition! It is unknown how many of these actually exsist, but you will have a hard time finding another, let alone this clean. The "G" serial number is noted on Fender's database under 'Odd Serial Numbers' as "STRAT from about 1980, (Gold hardware, 2 position rotary tone switch)" She sports an all-original custom Aztec Gold nitro finish plus a flamey hard-maple neck with a few birds-eyes.. The metal parts (including knobs) are reportedly solid brass coated in 24K gold.

This guitar was crafted early on in the Dan Smith era, a time when Fender was responding to an overwhwelming demand for a return to the classic features of the 50's & 60's. The 70's proved to be an "experimental" era (puff puff) with 3 bolt necks, huge headstocks, bullet truss-rod nuts; the guitar's equivalent of bell-bottoms! Although the "American Vintage Reissues" were not launched until 1982, "The Strat" incorporates many of the vintage appointments that were so much in demand, including the 4-bolt neck, smaller headstock w/ "plugged" truss rod cavity & a Tweed G&G reissue case.

Here is your chance to own a truly unique & significant vintage Fender in an original custom-color. The price provides a surprisingly affordable alternative to the early reissues from the same era, which fetch 3-4K regularly...

* This guitar is in Very-Good+ condition; Excellent by vintage standards.

* The Gold nitro finish is almost entirely intact. There are only a few small dings & marks, mostly along the bottom-rear edge. There is an inch-long scratch by on the upper horn near the strap button. There is also a slight "dullness" in texture where the arm rests on the upper contour.

* The neck, frets and ftretboard are all in excellent shape with absolutely minimal wear after 30+ years. there are a few tiny marks on the back of the neck, barely visible. The neck has some nice mellow flames and a few cool bird's-eyes, giving it the "hard-maple" appearance.
* The action is fast and low with minmal buzzing & no dead spots of any kind.

* The pickups/electronis are all 100% original & functioning with no noise. Features the X-1 bridge pickup with 2-way rotary tone knob; Allows for 9 different tonal options including "humbucking" type tones. A truly versitile instrument!

* The original tremelo arm is included, although not pictured.

* Lives in the original G&G Tweed reissue case, the same case as the 1982 American Vintage Reissues
