Here is a beautiful & incredibly well preserved example from Gibson's glory years. The double-cut Les Paul Special was only made between mid 1958-1961, with only a the early ones made in 1958-early 1959 sporting the coveted Les Paul Special still on the face of the Headstock. The double-cut Les Paul would not return until this model was lovingly reissued in 1974. It was brought in by the second owner who has had it for over 50 years!! The original color seems to be TV Beige as evidenced by the finish that remains in the control cavity. (see pictures below)
Chances are if you are reading this, you are familiar with the iconic tone produced by these early P-90's. This example is no exception, with a smokin' crunch in the bridge position, robust clarity in the neck position, and excellent blending capabilties in between. The beautiful and flamey dark chocolate brown Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth attack, The neck is very nice medium profile with ruby-red tortoise side position markers. as the notes ring out soulfully through the 52 year old Mahogany body. Keep reading for more detaials about this amazing vintage instrument... Here is your chance to own a truly rocking vintage Gibson! It sounds and plays to die for.

* This guitar is in extremely clean vintage condition; There are normal signs of aging, but only moderate playwear. It is exactly the level of Mojo of a light relic that Tom Murphy gets paid big bucks to emulate!!

* NO BREAKS OR REPAIRS 100% ROCK Solid neck-joint... The only known non-original parts are the tuners & the knobs. Both of which are vintage original parts. There appears to be a tiny crack in between two of the knobs, that does not affect anything.

* The playability and sound are perfect.

The original TV Yellow beige was refinished within 2 years of first leaving the factory (according to the second owner he purchased it this way over 50 years ago) to a Cherry Red finish that is fully intact with only very light lacquer checking. There are a handful of minor dings and tiny scratches, but no major chips or buckle-rash. The edges of the headstock display little typical wear. The serial number is not present.

All The electronics are 100% original with un-disturbed solder joints, function perfectly and sound AMAZING!! Smoking hot P-90's + cornell dubilier capacitors!

* The neck is a 59 profile; still chunky & round but not a baseball bat. The action is straight, true & fast with no  buzzing & no dead spots. There is moderate wear on the frets.

* Includes the original leather strap, cord, & vintage bottle of  Gibson Polish.

* The frets are original and have some wear, but plenty of life still left.

* The case is in great shape! It is only missing the handle. (the owner has had it in this case for 50 years and as far  he knows it is the original)
